About the platform
Dear White Women is a platform led by two biracial (Japanese and White) moms who want to make the world more equitable for their very mixed-race children.
The weekly podcast has been going strong since April 2019. It’s a mix of conversations; some feature Sara & Misasha deep-diving into history, grappling with current events, or having cathartic moments being real about their frustrations; others showcase incredible visionaries, activists, authors, scholars, and practitioners (often of color) from across the country and world. New episodes are released every Tuesday, and are available on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, and wherever podcasts are found.
The book, Dear White Women: Let’s Get (Un)comfortable Talking About Racism was published in October 2021 - having been written between the 2020 election and the January 6 insurrection - as a heart-led, practical collection of stories, history, and action steps. It helps to fill in the gaps for people who might have lived in homogenous communities, whose schools didn’t teach the complete history of the United States, and who might still be grappling with the question, “well, what do I DO to be more anti-racist?”
Sara & Misasha greatly enjoy speaking with audiences that want heart-led, impactful discussions. They lean into the framework of LISTEN | LEARN | ACT to welcome people into anti-racism with moving stories, the history of why we are where we are today, and the daily possibilities we each have to make change starting in our daily lives.
